What to Enter
Title or Keywords: Enter either a job title, keywords, or both. Keywords are words you think might appear somewhere in the job title or job description. The search engine will attempt to find job results that contain all of the words you have entered.
Location: Enter a location as either a City, State or a zip code.
To Find Jobs throughout the USA: If you are trying to find jobs in any USA location for a specific job title or keywords, just enter a job title, keywords, or both in the Title area and leave the Location area empty.
To Find Specific Jobs in a particular City or State: Enter either a job title, keywords, or both in the Title area and enter the name of the city or state in the Location area.
To Find Any Job in a particular City or State: Leave the Title area empty and enter the name of the city or state in the Location area.
Setting Options:
To help make your search results more relevant and useful, you can set any of the following options:
Type of Job: Choose either fulltime, parttime, contract, temporary, or intern. (Default is fulltime.)
Radius: Set how far away from your location you want jobs to be included in your results. (Default is 25 miles.)
How far back: Select how many days back to search for job postings. (Default is 30 days.)
Site type: Select jobs from either employers only, jobboards only, or from all sources. (Default is all.)
Sort: Job results may be sorted by either relevance to your title or keywords or by date. (Default is relevance.)
Jobs per page: You may select either 10 or 20 job results per page. (Default is 10 jobs per page.)
The Restore to defaults" link will restore all options to their default setting.
Other Suggestions:
If you receive too many job results, you might want to try:
- adding another keyword to more narrowly define the type of job you are searching for.
- reducing the radius of your search.
- reduce how far back you want jobs to be included in your results.
If you receive too few job results, you might try:
- using fewer keywords to more broadly specify the type of job you are searching for.
- increasing the radius of your search.
- increase how far back you want jobs to be included in your results.
Finding More Jobs
Not all job postings for the same type of job are written alike. Different companies use different words to describe the same or very similar jobs. So, you might want to try using different words in the "Job title or keywords" box. For example, instead of "RN", try "registered nurse" or "nurse".
